When photography can’t express the things you need it to, I turned to music.

Afterlife by Agneu is a project I started in August 2025 - drawing on years of observational and lived experiences. Agneu is a type of homophone of my mother’s family name, Agnew. The songs were composed and preformed by me in my garden studio in Ponsonby. Backing vocals were provided by Lucy McIntosh and Willa Cameron. Percussion and drums were preformed by Steve Melville and the collection was mixed and engineered by Steve Melville at Friend Machine. The vintage butterfly images were from my partner, Tam West’s personal collection and were photographed in the garden studio also.
